One boy and one girl trying to document all the amazing food in Austin, Texas.
Well..
We kind of let this blog lapse because.. well.. The Girl was diagnosed with cancer.
Kind of took the wind out of our sails, to say the least.
We really wanted this to be a giant adventure of a “blog” but it seems it has fallen flat. Hopefully we’ll find some way to resurrect it in a different way, perhaps fuckyeahcancer or something, but that seems to be taken.
Thanks for everyone that followed our first few posts, we hope you found some other people to make your mouths drool with the joys of Austin food.
Our Texas Mixto: Seasonal vegetables and pickles fried with house ranch and malt vinegar aioli at Black Star Co-op.
It could feed 6 people for sure.
Staying in, eating pasta, feeling blue.
The girl has been away for a month being awesome at things in other states. I have been here in Austin with the dog, lonely and sad and staying in most of the time. We have some photos from before The Girl left that I should post! Maybe I will do that.
Thanks for all the great suggestions of places to try out. We found so many places that we can’t believe we didn’t know about! The Girl is excited to come home to Austin and try them, hopefully she’s excited to see me too!
Our first meal together in over a month, when the girl is back on Friday, will be at Uchi. It’s weird that Uchi is our “place” to eat since it isn’t always the most practical, but it is fantastic food.
Anyway, keep the suggestions coming!

24 Diner @ 10:15 p.m.
Went to 24 Diner last week on the first night they started serving hard alcohol. This is some alcoholic drink that included espresso and a scoop of ice cream but neither The Boy nor The Girl can remember what alcohol was in it or what it was called.
It was delicious though.
